Finally, the PC gets oldskool 2D Worms action that hasn't been seen since Worms World Party in 2001. Worms Reloaded will be available for download off Steam on 27th August 2010. If you pre-purchase now you get 10% off, 24-hour early access and some extra in-game items.

Space Quest 1-3 is now available for purchase at Good Old Games - which means that you can now buy the entire collection from GOG (as they're already selling SQ 4-6)! So if you want to get the Space Quest Collection for under $USD20, DRM-free, might be worth a look :). I may wait a bit to see if they get included as a sale since at the moment (as you can see by my ever-increasing Review TODO list) I've got enough games to play with!

Not sure if many of you remember a little mod for Unreal Tournament (I can't remember which one) called Alien Swarm. It was a top-down, 4 co-op sci-fi horror game, reminiscent of the Aliens universe. You're pretty much a team of marines that has to blast their way out through each level fighting swarms of aliens.
I'm happy to report an update to Alien Swarm will soon be released on Steam using the Source engine.
Expect to grab your copy on 20th July 2010.

The Special Edition of Monkey Island 2 is finally available on Steam! For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, it's basically a remastered edition of the original, bringing in high-def graphics, audio and music to the original. It also incorporates a new hint system, and if you don't like the spanking new stuff, you can always switch to classic mode and play the original :).
I've noticed that this time around Steam achievements have been incorporated into the game to, and for once I think I have a good chance of unlocking all of them!

Just happened to visit the Need for Speed World website recently and apparently it's now in open beta! So if you want to try your hand at what is effectively Need for Speed online, why not give it a shot?
As far as I know, this game is going to be free-to-play forever, the only catch is (as there is with any free-to-play game) is that you can get extra perks through micro-transactions, although from what I've seen so far, fortunately, the micro-transactions only speed up your leveling basically and don't give you an unfair advantage over non-paying customers...

Mass Effect 2 is back on sale again on Steam with a 40% discount that brings the game's price below the $50 mark. If you want to play the game rated with the highest score yet on Choicest Games, you'd be foolish not to take advantage of this offer! :)
Like the Civilization sale before, this is only for a limited time (i.e. today).
