It's probably too late, and also unlikely this would ever occur, but how awesome would it be if the band Yes did the ending credits to Mass Effect 3? I recently acquired a copy of their album "Big Generator" which doesn't have the best songs the band has made (although there are a few good ones), however the stand-out track is "Shoot High, Aim Low" and whenever I hear it I could just imagine it being played at the end of Mass Effect 3. After all, Yes is a prog rock band a lot of there music could be considered "space rock" so it would fit quite easily in a sci-fi game.
Oh and this isn't the first time they've done a track for a sci-fi game - they've already done that with the classic game Homeworld by Relic. So it's not a far stretch of the imagination.
What do you think would be a good ending track for Mass Effect 3? Or should they just incorporate a non-licensed track like they did with Mass Effect 2?

ReplyDeleteI am of the opinion the gods would have interviened in its absence, illustrating their claims of being good, and established "old world" dictatorship control at the dawn of mankind's mass moral deterioration. Purely speculation, I conceed, and a total waste of time which distracts from important work we are all responsible for, but even without the Holocaust the gods would have manufactured something that would allow them to manage their culpability and justify their lack of divine intervention. After all, we all abide by their chronology.
A good example of societal decay and how the gods manage their culpability is birth defects. In the past the gods occassionally punished people by divinely creating birth defects in the womb. Now, with the advent of biotechnology, they tempt the mother with "earning" and compell her to take a substance in utero which deforms the fetus, dispelling the gods of blame and future obligation to the victim. Incidentally, they use liberal policies to pay for these individuals, ensuring a lifetime wasted, for they have no hope for progress. Too often in the past they were mercifully killed and brought back without this handicap, allowing them opportunity to resume their journey of ascention into heaven.

Another feature which the Gods offer as a clue is very foreboading and ominous. Mt. Zion is a mountain to the north of Diablo (the eye of The Beast) and one which has a working quarry at its base. Consistant with the decay we experience in society, Mt. Zion is being eaten away, slowly stripped of its resources, until one day paradise will be gone forever.
