Happy New Year!

It's that time of the year again... the beginning of the year that is. Wishing all my readers a Happy New Year! Choicest Games has made it to 2026, despite life again getting in the way and making it an extremely busy year.

As it was with previous years, last year, I made some blog-specific new year resolutions in terms of what I was planning to achieve for 2025. But first, let us see what was actually achieved along with some of the other highlights:

• My performance in 2025 was only slightly better than the previous year: I made 23 posts compared to 2024's 22 posts. I again was short of my goal of 24 reviews, having only posted 19.
• So far, 205 games have been crossed off the Pile of Shame list. This means that I'm currently at 12.9% which may seem small, but is a very slight improvement from last year (last year was 12.6%) but again, the Pile of Shame has increased to 1,585 games so this isn't helping!
• The annual 10 Most Anticipated PC Games list was completed for 2026 and I again created a PC Game Music Covers and Remixes post.
• Additionally, I also did a 10th Anniversary Choicest Games Top 100, which was a gargantuan task. Maybe if I didn't do it in the first place I could've met my goal of 24 reviews this year?

This year it seems I've managed to complete 2 out of 3 of my new year resolutions: I completed not only a Top 10 list last year but also a new Choicest Games Top 100. I also published a Most Anticipated PC Games List of 2026 (with the help of Lanna).

I again failed in reaching the modest goal of 24 reviews this year (two reviews per month). I missed it by 5 reviews. So, I'm planning to keep my goal at 24 reviews since I think it's still a reasonable one, mainly because my backlog of reviews isn't getting any better!

So what are my resolutions going to be for 2026?

• To aim for 24 reviews in 2026 (or two per month)
• To continue the Most Anticipated PC Games List for 2027
• To complete a feature article for this year (e.g. a Top 10 list, Top 100 list, etc.)
