Promotional art for Season 2 of Battlefield 2042 |
The following post is part of a series of posts that are published every Wednesday to update readers on what I've been playing during the week (this also includes games on my "Pile of Shame"). The games to target are picked by Choicest Games contributors Choona, Luke and myself. As I'll be talking about my progress through these games, there may be spoilers ahead, especially for games containing a narrative. Consider yourself warned.

The new season of Battlefield 2042 is out now and I got to experience it first hand. So far, I'm liking it although I am sad that I still seem to have the same issues as in the previous season when it comes to loading up the game (however, apparently my wife experienced a similar issue too, so maybe it's a connectivity issue, or an issue to do with pre-caching of files).
I've just unlocked the new Specialist called Crawford but I have yet to try him out yet. I'm liking the slight improvements they've made to the interface and I just hope the new season will result in a lot of people returning. At least according to SteamDB, some people seemed to have returned to Battlefield 2042 with around 16,000 at its peak (which pushes the game back into the top 100 Steam games), compared to the roughly 4,000-5,000 players per day over the past few days (remember, this is only Steam and doesn't include player numbers on other platforms, but it's a pretty good litmus test, I reckon).
