It's chaos out there |
I'm by no means a gun expert, and I'd strongly recommend visiting the Internet Movie Firearms Database if you ever get the urge to identify what a particular gun used in a movie, or indeed, video game is. However, a quick search online and I believe I've identified the real-life counterparts to the weapons that are being introduced in Season 2 of Battlefield 2042. Check it out.
AM40 |
AM40
Real life counterpart: AM-17The AM40 seems to be based on the Kalashnikov Concern AM-17 assault rifle. Dubbed a "Small-sized Automatic Rifle", it uses 5.45x39mm ammunition and is intended as a close quarters weapon to replace the AKS-74U.
PF51 |
PF51
Real life counterpart: Kel-Tec P50The PF51 seems to be based on a Kel-Tec P50 semi-automatic pistol. It has an interesting design since it actually uses 50 round FN P90 magazines and is quite easy to distinguish due to its long barrel, over double the length of an FN Five-seven.
Avancys |
Avancys
Real life counterpart: FN EVOLYSThe Avancys seems to be based on the FN EVOLYS general purpose machine gun. It's intended to be a lighter and more ergonomic version of the FN Minimi. In fact, it's 30% less heavy thanks to the use of polymers.
It'll be interesting to see how these new weapons perform in terms of the game. Are you excited about the Season 2 update?
