SURE PLAYS A MEAN PINBAAALLL

The following post is part of a series of posts that are published every Wednesday to update readers on what I've been playing during the week (this also includes games on my "Pile of Shame"). The games to target are picked by Choicest Games contributors Choona, Luke and myself. As I'll be talking about my progress through these games, there may be spoilers ahead, especially for games containing a narrative. Consider yourself warned.

Disco Elysium

No way! I've encountered a game-breaking bug for the first time! Well, the game didn't technically crash to desktop, nor did it freeze, but for all intents and purposes, you might as well have considered a freeze as I was unable to progress any further: my character was stuck in the middle of a conversation with no options to end it. So I had to restore the game from the last savepoint.

I am making progress on the case though and I've discovered a secret back room that Ruby probably used. I also learned a bit more of the backstory for a couple of NPCs. I like how the white checks in the game allow you to do that and how learning different pieces of information can actually give you positive modifiers to the checks.

Battlefield 2042

  • Picked by Me
  • Percentage Complete = 40%

I've progressed a few levels and slowly unlocking things. I really want to unlock the SOFLAM but that's still a way off. I'm currently Level 43 but for a while I was Level 42, the best thing to come out of the Isle of Wight. Most of the time, I quite enjoy this game, it's just a pity there aren't more players around. I have taken a different approach with weapons and am now using ones with good handling instead of ones that do the most damage. We'll see if it actually helps in the long run. I usually feature at the end of the game as the one with the most vehicle kills so I must be doing something right!

I'm actually not minding the MP9 as it's quite easy to handle. I don't like the shortage of ammo though but you can later upgrade the SMG with a drum magazine which looks kind of silly but hey it's apparently legit.
