I'm preferring the art in this third act

The following post is part of a series of posts that are published every Sunday to update readers on what Mark G has been up to with respect to finishing off games on his "Pile of Shame". The games to target are picked by Choicest Games contributors Choona, Luke and myself. As I'll be talking about my progress through these games, there may be spoilers ahead, especially for games containing a narrative. Consider yourself warned.

Disco Elysium

  • Picked by Me
  • Percentage Complete = 44%

I've been focusing on other games this week so I didn't get time to play this.

Pillars of Eternity

  • Picked by Luke
  • Percentage Complete = 10%

I've been focusing on other games this week so I didn't get time to play this.

Psychonauts 2

  • Picked by Me
  • Percentage Complete = 5%

Captain Disaster in Death Has a Million Stomping Boots

  • Picked by Me
  • Percentage Complete = 83%

I've made it to Act 3 and I've found the graphics much more appealing (it's probably no coincidence that a different background artist was responsible for the background art in Act III, a chap from Western Australia named Ben Chandler). Puzzles so far are all quite familiar to those that have played many classic point 'n' click adventures including one in Act II that seems heavily inspired by a similar puzzle in The Secret of Monkey Island when you're trying to figure out how to get to Monkey Island (you'll see what I mean if you ever play Death Has a Million Stomping Boots). Things are going well so far and I think I've almost finished the game, although I am somewhat stuck again, so hoping I can figure this one out soon.
