What's hilarious is this turtle sounds like Barry White

The following post is part of a series of posts that are published every Sunday to update readers on what Mark G has been up to with respect to finishing off games on his "Pile of Shame". The games to target are picked by Choicest Games contributors Choona, Luke and myself. As I'll be talking about my progress through these games, there may be spoilers ahead, especially for games containing a narrative. Consider yourself warned.

Disco Elysium

  • Picked by Me
  • Percentage Complete = 44%

I've been focusing on Psychonauts this week so I didn't get time to play this.

Pillars of Eternity

  • Picked by Luke
  • Percentage Complete = 10%

I've been focusing on Psychonauts this week so I didn't get time to play this.

Psychonauts

  • Picked by Me
  • Percentage Complete = 62%

I reckon I am sooo close to finishing Psychonauts. Yes the percentage complete figure seems to indicate I still have a few hours to go but when I went to the Brain Tumbler in Nein's lab and checked how many more minds I had to explore, there was only one and I think I'm at that stage now. I finally made the way to the top of the tower at the asylum and confronted Doctor Loboto. One of the funniest moments in this part of the game is when you rescue a pet turtle for Doctor Loboto's assistant Sheegor (probably named so because she is a female equivalent of Igor?): she is ecstatic when she is reunited with the turtle called Mr. Pokeylope and then tells Raz he will surely have a plan of how to deal with Doctor Loboto. At this point, the player probably thinks she's crazy if she believes her pet turtle can talk, but she's actually not lying and the Mr. Pokeylope proceeds to say "that's right, baby. Daddy's here" in a deep and reassuring Barry White voice.

Anyway, in the final confrontation with Coach Oleander, somehow Raz managed to sneeze out his brain but through sheer force of will, you can apparently use telekinesis to move Raz's brain right next to Coach Oleander's and this triggers the final mission into Coach Oleander's mind. This is why I believe I'm pretty close to finishing this game.
