Choicest VGM - VGM #473 - Universe at War: Earth Assault - Composite

Universe at War OST artwork

Soundtrack composed by Frank Klepacki

This track, called "Composite", actually bears some thematic similarities to a track off the Red Alert soundtrack called "Fogger". They both have this cool, stealthy, spy-like feel to them, and feature a laid-back, dreamy passage part-way through. The track also bears similarities to another Red Alert track called "Mud". Anyway, I loved Red Alert's soundtrack so that's probably why I like this particular track as well.

And what of the word "composite"? What does it actually mean? Well, "composite" is actually short for "composite material" which is simply a material produced from two or more constituent materials. To distinguish composites from mixtures and solid solutions, the elements in a composite remain separate and distinct. Examples of composites include reinforced concrete, plywood, fibreglass and, of course, composite armour.

The soundtrack was originally offered for free off the Petroglyph forums but you can download a copy from the Free VGM section at Choicest Games. It's also available for streaming off Frank Klepacki's website.
