Choicest VGM - VGM #448 - Emperor: Battle for Dune - A Plan of Attack

Screencap of FMV cutscene featuring House Ordos Mentat from Emperor: Battle for Dune

Track composed by Jarrid Mendelson

For our last track to feature from the Emperor: Battle for Dune soundtrack we have what I believe is the most memorable track for the Ordos faction called "A Plan of Attack".

It's a crazy mix of industrial, big beat and insane jungle rhythms. It actually reminds me of the same energy you hear when listening to The Prodigy's "Breathe". Speaking of the genre Big Beat, here's what Wikipedia has to say about it:

Big Beat is a genre of electronic music that uses heavy breakbeats and synthesiser-generated loops and patterns, common to acid house and techno. Apparently the term was coined by the British to describe artists (and all of these guys are pretty famous) such as The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Propellorheads, Basement Jaxx and Groove Armada. It achieved mainstream success during the 1990s and early 2000s. The genre started to decline from 2001 onwards, which is interesting, considering Emperor: Battle for Dune was released in 2001 as well.
