The following post is part of a series of posts that are published every Sunday to update readers on what Mark G has been up to with respect to finishing off games on his "Pile of Shame". The games to target are picked by Choicest Games contributors Choona, Luke and myself. As I'll be talking about my progress through these games, there may be spoilers ahead, especially for games containing a narrative. Consider yourself warned.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

  • Picked by Me
  • Percentage Complete = 71%
I really want to finish this game but there seems to be a sort of difficulty spike since the last couple of Warchiefs are really hard to defeat. It's actually getting quite frustrating now. The last two warchiefs are hard enough to defeat on their own (they have very little in the way of weaknesses) and their bodyguards are pretty tough too. It seems like the safest way to solve this is playing the long game where you mind control the lesser captains and wait for them to be recruited by your targets since when it comes to fighting against the elite warchiefs you'll at least have some backup!

Fallout 4

  • Picked by Luke
  • Percentage Complete = 50%
I continued with the main storyline this week and finally made my way to a town called Goodneighbor which seems to be run by a ghoul. I met Nick Valentine again and then talked to someone who worked at a place called the Memory Den: Her name was Dr Amari. She hooked up Kellogg's implant into Nick's brain and then I hooked up into a memory capsule that allowed me to relive Kellogg's life. Apparently, he was originally from the Hub on the West Side (where the original Fallout was set). Kellogg even has the memory of when he kills your wife and abducts your son but instead of viewing from your own perspective, of course, you view it through Kellogg's this time.

Anyway, I now have to find a way through this highly irradiated area called the Glowing Sea where a rogue Institute scientist apparently lives.

Conquests of Camelot: The Search for the Grail

  • Picked by Choona
  • Percentage Complete = 3%
No progress on this game. I ran out of time this week. Hopefully can get to try it out next week!
