And now we're finally at the #1 PC Game Music Cover for 2019… and it's yet another cover by Yffisch but for another Monkey Island game, namely Monkey Island 2.
This particular track is one of my favourites from the game and I often find myself spontaneously whistling it. It's good to know that Yffisch feels the same way as this track not only features the Chinese xiao flute, silver flute, button accordion, clarinet and… erm… pepper mill… it also features some good ol' humming and whistling!
Apparently, the tune reminds Yffisch a while ago when he was at a LAN and instead of playing Counter-Strike with the others, he played Monkey Island 2 and he was content to just sit in his corner and play something "special". I think he's on to something and this track right at the beginning of the game, as Guybrush Threepwood regales his fantastic stories around a campfire, is the perfect track to be associated with that memory.
