Roger Wilco visits Monolith Burger for a break |
The following post is part of a series of posts that are published every Sunday to update readers on what Mark G has been up to with respect to finishing off games on his "Pile of Shame". The games to target are picked by Choicest Games contributors Choona, Luke and myself. As I'll be talking about my progress through these games, there may be spoilers ahead, especially for games containing a narrative. Consider yourself warned.
Wasteland 2: Director's Cut
- Picked by Me
- Percentage Complete = 66%
Fallout 4
- Picked by Luke
- Percentage Complete = 20%
On my way doing random quests, I did encounter two Super mutant groups and both contained "elites" (i.e. enemies that are probably a bit too tough for my level). Thanks to these two encounters, I'm now running really low on ammo, because super mutants take a lot of hits to put down. Where DO you get ammo in this game? Unfortunately, it doesn't seem you can craft that stuff (despite being able to craft everything else) so it looks like I have to seek out weapon vendors.
Also, I somehow impressed Piper enough for her to spill the beans on her past. It's probably one of the only parts of the game I like considering it reminds me of a similar mechanic when playing Knights of the Old Republic (I loved getting to know my crew members better).
Space Quest III
- Picked by Choona
- Percentage Complete = 30%
Still loving the music by Bob Seibenberg, and I've now made a bit more progress. I'm hoping I haven't missed anything but I've successfully rid myself of the Terminator that was chasing me on the planet Phleebhut (yes, that's its actual name). Speaking of the Terminator, I enjoy the fact the game references several sci-fi franchises including the aforementioned Terminator as well as Frank Herbert's Dune.
Puzzles seem logical so far although I did have to consult a hint for the second time on the planet Ortega, although it seems that the only thing I need to do is wait longer than a minute or so for the Scumsoft henchmen to move off. Then I'll have an opportunity to check out their stuff.
