This is the first game on this list that was also voted by Lanna and it's not surprising considering she's a big fan of Marvel superhero films (but then again, who isn't?). Developed by Crystal Dynamics, who are more well known for the rebooted Tomb Raider series, Marvel's Avengers promises to be an action-adventure which can either be played offline as a single-player experience or co-operatively online with up to three other players.
In terms of the plot and characters, the game is not based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the Avengers and instead gets its inspiration from adaptations in other media. The game is set in a world where superheroes have been outlawed (which sounds a bit like the plot to "The Incredibles" to me) but once Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel uncovers a conspiracy, she sets off to find the Avengers and assemble a team to fight evil.
The game is set to be released on the 15th May 2020.
