RUUUUN! GOOOOO! GET TO DA CHOPPAH!

The following post is part of a series of posts that are published every Sunday to update readers on what Mark G has been up to with respect to finishing off games on his "Pile of Shame". The games to target are picked by Choicest Games contributors Choona, Luke and myself. As I'll be talking about my progress through these games, there may be spoilers ahead, especially for games containing a narrative. Consider yourself warned.

Wasteland 2: Director's Cut

Wow. Just when I thought this game couldn't get any bigger, it seems that everything that happened in Arizona was simply a big tutorial for what's going to happen in Los Angeles. Upon arriving there, it turns out most of the Desert Rangers have perished, and only quite recently to an attack by radioactive dogs affectionately known as "Nuke Pooches". The only team member left is Woodson the same Woodson that was the radio operator back at Ranger Citadel in Arizona; prior to leaving for Los Angeles, he was promoted to Lieutenant and is consequently the ranking officer for the Los Angeles operation. Apparently, my orders are to acquire cat litter (preferably unused) in order to improve our rad suits, get a repeater on a radio tower in Griffith so that communications can be re-established with Ranger Citadel, find out what happened to Team Foxtrot whose last known position was Seal Beach, assess the threats sending broadcasts on the radio and generally help out the local population whenever possible. No pressure.

I'm also in a bit of strife at the moment with respect to junk (it's starting to weigh my crew down) not to mention I'm also out of 9mm ammo.

Homefront: The Revolution

Man, liberating areas within zones can get frustrating when things bug out: for example, one area required me to rid it of all enemy snipers, but I could never get the last one as she always managed to hide high up in a building behind some debris, meaning I never had a clear shot to complete the objective! Frustrating!

Anyway, I did free some escaped prisoners and I am now in possession of a keycard that can grant me access to the prison (as the plan is to hopefully recruit more Resistance fighters there). Noice.

Gold Rush! Classic

  • Picked by Choona
  • Percentage Complete = 36%
Something isn't quite right here. I read the walkthrough and it says you need to pay in order to get a gold pan in order to prospect for gold. Fair enough. That sounds reasonable and I would've thought that'd be a logical step except I don't have any money or gold because I lost it all when the ship sailed around Cape Horn. However, apparently you can make it to Sacramento via all three ways, so there must be some way of arriving via Cape Horn with a means of paying for a pan....

Anyway, I'll be trying the game using a walkthrough from now on and I'll try the Cape Horn route again just to be see if I stumble across the same issue.
