"Brave New World" is my favourite track on "Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds" album and its remix is my favourite on the game's soundtrack. It just bridles with optimism, as if showing the aliens that this industrious, resourceful, resilient and cunning race of Humans will not be beaten. They're going to build a whole new world for themselves where the Martians will be beaten at their own game: Man on top again! It's pretty much the whole premise behind the X-COM games (i.e. humans re-purposing alien technology in order to give them a fighting chance).

The music is especially awesome when you're liberating territory held by the Martians supported by shore bombardments from ironclads.
