Choicest VGM - VGM #376 - Fallout - Moribund World

Music composed by Mark Morgan

We now move onto the soundtrack of 1997 post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout. Most of the music in Fallout is an ambient affair and any regular reader here will know I'm not generally a fan of ambient tracks, however they can do wonders in immersing you into a game and occasionally, they're memorable enough even for me: "Moribund World" or the music that plays when you're travelling across the map in Fallout is one such track. Something about the tribal drumming helps give you the impression that the world is a primitive and dangerous place once more.

Now here's an interesting bit of trivia: Mark Morgan, composer for the original Fallout, was actually a member of the band Starship (yes, the same Starship that brought you 80s hits like "We Built This City", "Sara" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now"). Morgan performed as a pianist for the band for a brief period from 1987 - 1990 and contributed to the 1989 album "Love Among the Cannibals".
