Just as well we don't live in a world like that today, right? RIGHT? |
The following post is part of a series of posts that are published every Sunday to update readers on what Mark G has been up to with respect to finishing off games on his "Pile of Shame". The games to target are picked by Choicest Games contributors Choona, Luke and myself. As I'll be talking about my progress through these games, there may be spoilers ahead, especially for games containing a narrative. Consider yourself warned.
Mage's Initiation
- Picked by Me
- Percentage Complete = 100%
Anyway, during trial two you get to do a lot of detective work at a village of winged creatures called the Flyterians. It was actually quite fun although I noticed that all Flyterian houses seem to look the same, save for different coloured rooftops 😉
Oh, the problem I was stuck at last time, I found a logical solution to and the side quest ended up having a satisfactory ending. What I liked about this side quest though is that I believe it only applies to water mages: that means each element gets its own side quest which I think is pretty neat and, in the end, helps increase the game's replay value. The game also gives you Steam Achievements for doing good, honourable deeds, so you can once again enjoy that warm and fuzzy feeling you would've got playing as a paladin in Quest for Glory 😊.
When you complete the game, you're able to save your character file, so I'm guessing (and hoping) that there's going to be a sequel to Mage's Initiation. One playthrough took me about 11 hours to complete, so the game is of a decent length, especially when you consider there are three other elements to play as.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew
- Picked by Me
- Percentage Complete = 16%
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
- Picked by Luke
- Percentage Complete = 66%
King's Quest III
- Picked by Choona
- Percentage Complete = 100%
I like how they tease who is going to wear the adventurer's cap at the end of the game, it would've been kind of unfair to Rosella if Graham ended up just passing it on to his son by default 😉. And we wouldn't have the Perils of Rosella.
