It's a bittersweet feeling featuring a remix based off Jared Emerson-Johnson's soundtrack for The Wolf Among Us because, as we all know, Telltale Games are no longer with us which means the sequel to The Wolf Among Us that was scheduled for this year, is never going to come to fruition (but what is more tragic is that the closure of the studio resulted in a lot of incredibly skilled yet unemployed game devs as a result).

If you don't know what The Wolf Among Us is, it's an adventure game which serves as a prequel to a comic series called "Fables" by Bill Willingham. The comics follow the lives of fairy tale characters called "Fables" living as refugees in New York alongside "mundies" (regular humans) after their homelands were destroyed by a mysterious enemy known as "The Adversary". In the game, you play the role of the Big Bad Wolf, known as Bigby Wolf who happens to be the sheriff of the Fable community, Fabletown. As with any good Telltale adventure, you'll come across a whole bunch of ethical dilemmas to contend with, especially whether to let your inner rage come to the surface, or whether you keep it hidden and contained.

Anyway, the original soundtrack by Jared Emerson-Johnson is a moody, 80s synth affair which fits the neo-noir tone of the game well. Remixer aluminum expands upon this in "Binding" and it's got even more of a synthwave feel to this than the original. I also love how aluminum explores Bigby's duality at 2:50 as we enter a frantic, berserker rage of a passage which would complement Bigby's inner bloodlust perfectly.

I'm also just happy that someone actually decided to do a remix based off a Telltale game, I really wish there were more!

Thanks again to OCRemix for hosting and curating these remixes.
