In the number one spot we have a game in development by the legendary Julian Gollop and his team, Snapshot Games. Julian Gollop is best know as the creator of the X-COM series, so he knows quite a bit about sci-fi turn-based tactics games. He also knows quite a bit on how to run a successful crowdfunding campaign as Chaos Reborn, a fantasy turn-based tactics game that was crowdfunded in 2014 and released in 2015, received critical acclaim (it currently has a Metascore of 85 on Metacritic) and is well liked amongst fans: 75% of the 727 user reviews on Steam are positive, giving it a score of "Mostly Positive").
Most of the gameplay elements you’d expect from a turn-based tactics game are there but the game has also incorporated a system for targeting particular body parts, similar to the V.A.T.S. system in the Fallout games. The return of the Geoscape and John Broomhall (composer for the original UFO: Enemy Unknown) is also welcome news!
So, the signs are positive that this game is going to be a hit which is why Phoenix Point rightfully deserves its place as #1 Most Anticipated PC Game of 2019 here at Choicest Games.
