In what is exciting news for Command & Conquer fans, EA has announced that it will be remastering not only the original Command & Conquer (Tiberian Dawn) but also Command & Conquer: Red Alert as well. Also, to ensure that the games will be as authentic as possible, they are partnering with the remains of Westwood Studios who are all holed up at Petroglyph Games; Joe Bostic (co-creator of Command & Conquer), Steve Tall (Lead Programmer on Red Alert), Mike Legg (who contributed to audio systems at Westwood) and Ted Morris (original community manager on the C&C franchise) originally formed Petroglyph Games and are still there working with a whole bunch of other developers, including the legendary Frank Klepacki, one of the best video game music composers out there (who also composed all the music for the C&C games when they were still made by Westwood Studios).

Development is still in very early days which means the community will have an opportunity to influence how development of the remaster occurs. EA says it will also be partnering with Lemon Sky Studios (who worked on the remaster of Starcraft) who will assist on bringing the original games to “4K glory”.
