The following post is part of a series of posts that are published every Sunday to update readers on what Mark G has been up to with respect to finishing off games on his "Pile of Shame". The games to target are picked by Choicest Games contributors Choona, Luke and myself. As I'll be talking about my progress through these games, there may be spoilers ahead, especially for games containing a narrative. Consider yourself warned.
Master of Orion 2

So, I managed to commit some time again to
Master of Orion 2 this week and again, I failed! Also, what is with the game continuing to crash to desktop? That's definitely not cool, especially while I was in the middle of a space battle! Thank God the autosave feature was working so I didn't lose
too much progress. Also, despite me discounting the Klackons as being an ineffective race (since I played so poorly as them in my previous game), they're actually the biggest threat to me in my current game – so much so that their huge fleets of battleships have been wiping me out – but where in the galaxy have they been acquiring the tech from? Oh, and I think I've just about had it with this current game I'm playing too as the Antarans actually attacked my homeworld and totally obliterated it! I think that's good a reason as any to /ragequit, don't you?
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series

Well, I'm making good progress with
Guardians of the Galaxy, despite it supposedly being a
distraction from the other games I'm
meant to be playing… I've now finished episodes 2 and 3. I love it how combat often involves you switching between the different Guardians and I also love how the game explores each of their backstories. As with any Telltale game, there are plenty of difficult dilemmas to wrestle your way through, which is great. Oh, and Mantis is in this game too and she's very similar to her movie counterpart, except for the fact she doesn't appear to be a minion of Ego.
Horizon Chase Turbo

Okay, my progress is starting to slow with this game as the tracks seem to be getting more difficult. I now have to retry old races hoping I can improve my results which translates into more points to unlock new races or vehicles. I have unlocked the Dodge Charger aka "Dynamite" (complete with Vin Diesel "Fast and the Furious" quotes while you're racing) and the Audi R8 Spyder aka "Fancy Grey", but I'm not really enamoured with either of them since while they're really good with their nitro boosts, I still prefer a car with better handling which for me is the NSX-R aka "Orient".

Okay so I played
Door Kickers a bit this week and made some progress! I've now unlocked the "Stealth" class but didn't end up using it because it's basically like any other class except you get access to silenced weapons and you have to manually tell the operator to fire, which is totally useless if the enemy has a habit of firing first before you even get a chance to react. I also came across some really tough opponents in body armour on my most recent mission – one of them even managed to take out four of my squad before I managed to finally take him out. I'm not quite sure how to counter them (besides taking them by surprise) unless I can maybe use an FN SCAR as a sniper rifle and take them out from range…

Town of Salem as it's that good, and Choona has still not picked a new game for me to play yet – oh well, means I get a break of sorts 😊 (and hopefully some time to catch up with reviews!)
