The following post is part of a series of posts that are published every Sunday to update readers on what Mark G has been up to with respect to finishing off games on his "Pile of Shame". The games to target are picked by Choicest Games contributors Choona, Luke and myself. As I'll be talking about my progress through these games, there may be spoilers ahead, especially for games containing a narrative. Consider yourself warned.
Megarace 2

I’ve almost totally given up. This game is way too frustrating. There are no hints out there on how to get past this level. I watched a couple of videos on YouTube and the players are probably just as bad at driving as I am but they seem to have a better car: The Cocoon. Unfortunately, I don’t have the cash to get that kind of car since I thought a car with the fastest top speed in the game would surely be faster than the opposition… boy was I wrong! So, the only real option for me is to start the game again since you’re just supposed to know that you’re meant to buy the more expensive cars even though there are no stats for them besides their top speed! However, I did notice in a video I just watched a few minutes ago that someone managed to make it with just the Thunder (a starter car) – despite him failing the first attempt he made it the second time, which gives me hope that it is at least possible you can make it with a starter car – but again, maybe not the Vipper :/.
Another downside to me not getting past this level is that it also means I can’t extract music for the final level of the game for my Choicest VGM segment: Bronx ☹. So, I
really want to get past this level…

Sweet! I recently unlocked the Shield class: Monty here we come (sorry, a bit of Siege humour there)! Also tried hostage rescue missions for the first time - you really got to be sure you're in a position to get the hostage because if you don't they make short work of them and its game over.
Also had to replace the MP5s with M4A1s for my squad – I just like the stopping power :). I also tried the shield guys but they ended up being a bit of a disappointment and are difficult to use effectively, a bit like Siege in that respect :P. Sure they can take more hits from the front but the range on the pistol is poor, the stopping power isn't there and you can easily get flanked.
I also still can't figure out how to safely open doors. You have to left click then right-click in order to bring up a menu to do safe things like use the optiwand or use flash grenades but sometimes if you're too close to the door you just end up accidentally breaking it open and killing yourself!

Yep still playing Town of Salem. It's fun! Need to figure out what Choona would like me to try out next. Maybe Shroud of the Avatar? Still quite a bit of fun and finally learning more about the roles and game strategies.
