IP for several old games acquired by Piko Interactive

Wait, if it's a magic ship, why the need for slaves?

A publisher I have never really heard of until now called Piko Interactive made an announcement recently about acquiring the IP for some old games from a whole bunch of classic publishers. The publishers include:

Infogrames
Ocean Software
Legend Entertainment
Beam Software
Accolade
Hasbro Interactive
GT Interactive
Microprose/Spectrum Holobyte

The only reason I found out about it was because I noticed that GOG is now selling Death Gate, a first-person adventure released in 1994 by Legend Entertainment and I noticed Piko Interactive was tagged as a related company.

This offers some hope for a whole bunch of retro games that have never been re-released on a digital distribution platform (such as Steam or GOG). Topping my list is a re-release of the first Civilization and Civilization II so that my digital Civ collection will finally be complete :).

Others I'm hoping to get a re-release:

TFX (Ocean Software)
Companions of Xanth (Legend Entertainment)
Frederik Pohl's Gateway (Legend Entertainment)
Superhero League of Hoboken (Legend Entertainment)
Shannara (Legend Entertainment)
Eric the Unready (Legend Entertainment)
Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds (GT Interactive)
Transport Tycoon (Microprose)

Hey, one can dream, right?
