Last one in is a liability to the team!

A Way Out is a game that has been in development since 2014 by Josef Fares and a small team of developers (Hazelight Studios in Sweden) that had previously worked on the well received 2013 action-adventure game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. The game is to be published as part of the EA Originals program which was specifically created to help fund indie game development and give them complete creative control (which I think is probably a good thing considering in-house development houses often churn out monstrosities when a publisher has full creative control).

The game is an online or local split-screen two player co-op game that doesn’t have a single-player mode - at all! In the game, you have to lead two convicted criminals Leo and Vincent as they attempt to break out of prison and escape the authorities. Players will need to cooperate in order to get through the game (e.g. one distracts a guard while the other finds a tool to escape) and you can also interact with NPCs choosing from multiple dialogue options. EA promises car chases, stealth segments, melee fights and shootouts aplenty and it sounds like a lot of fun – a perfect game to play on the Steam Link, don’t you think? 😊 (although being an EA title, maybe it'll only be released on Origin?)
