I remember the Golden Age of Point 'n' Click Adventures during the late 1980s to mid 1990s with great fondness. They were the days when the two companies Sierra On-Line and Lucasarts pumped out classic titles like King's Quest V, Quest for Glory IV, The Secret of Monkey Island, Loom, Gabriel Knight and... well I could keep going on and on, there's just so many to choose from. Anyway, when I first heard the news that Double Fine were finally going to release a remastered version of Day of the Tentacle, I was beside myself; Day of the Tentacle is one of my favourite games of all time, let alone one of my favourite point 'n' click adventures and the game is still as good today as it was over two decades ago. All I needed to make me even happier is if they decided to re-release Full Throttle and Curse of Monkey Island. Well, I'm still waiting on the third Monkey Island game, but thankfully one of my wishes came true as Full Throttle Remastered is going to be released next year!

There's currently very little information on the remaster but like Day of the Tentacle, I can't really think of any way you can improve on the original formula. The voice acting is sensational thanks to Roy Conrad, Kath Soucie, Tress MacNeille, Mark Hamill and Maurice LaMarche and the soundtrack featuring music by Californian rock band, The Gone Jackals complemented the game really well. Despite the game being really short, it was one hell of a roller coaster ride (or should that be Corley Motors ride?)! I suspect Double Fine will do the same treatment on Full Throttle as they did with Day of the Tentacle which would mean a remastered, higher quality soundtrack, higher definition graphics and developer commentary. Definitely looking forward to this one next year and it will be an insta-buy for me :).
