10 Most Anticipated PC Games of 2016 - #8 Mafia III

You don't want to be messing with this posse.

I'll start off by saying I'm not a big fan of GTA clones so the fact I like the Mafia series is a testament to how good these games are. Maybe it's the fact they're set in interesting time periods? Or maybe it's the story that helps elevate these games from the milieu of imitators? Maybe I just like games that imitate The Godfather? Whatever the case, I enjoyed the original Mafia and its sequel.

In Mafia III you play the role of a Vietnam vet named Lincoln Clay who survives an attempt on his life by the Italian mob. Planning to seek revenge, he decides to form his own criminal organisation. You'll have three allies to help you out including Vito Scaletta, the protagonist from Mafia II!

Mafia III is going to be the first Mafia game set in an actual city, i.e. 1960s New Orleans, instead of the fictional cities in the previous two games. It's also going to be the first not being developed by Illusion Softworks/2K Czech and is instead being developed by a studio called Hangar 13. The game is now being headed by ex-Lucasarts employee, Haden Blackman who worked on several Star Wars titles at his previous company.

The game looks like it's going to be more of the same but in this case, that's a good thing and I'm looking forward to this release as are two of the other judges.
