Civilization V is apparently in the works and not only that, it's coming as soon as Fall 2010! (so that's Spring 2010 for those of us living in the Southern Hemisphere) - which is only a few months away!
As you can see by the screenshot, the game is now hex-based. Also the graphics don't look like they've improved substantially, although it's good to see they're using the water effects from the most recent Colo!
A couple of interesting facts that can be gleaned from the features list that may interest Civ veterans:
- "City States will present a new diplomatic battleground on which the major powers of the world will vie for supremacy"
- It looks like ranged bombardment is back, and apparently "wars between empires feel massive with armies spreading across the landscape". Although not sure if that's because they've added more than three soldiers per unit like the last Civ!
