Spotlight Sunday - Week 28 - 2015

Spotlight Sunday is a way for Choicest Games to feature PC games that are scheduled for release on the following week - games that we consider worthwhile checking out.

This week (6th July to the 12th July 2015), there aren't too many games that I'm keen on; in fact there's only two, one which is a remaster of a classic and another which is a very interesting Early Access game (which I believe was a Kickstarter project):

Worms World Party Remastered

  • Release Date: 08/07/2015
  • Availability: Steam - Not available for pre-order, GOG - $13.59
Worms World Party was one of my favourite versions of Worms since it was basically Worms 2 with a bonanza of extra stuff. Now Team 17 have given Worms World Party the "remastered" treatment so while you're effectively getting the same game, the good news is it now can run at a higher resolution, the sound effects have been enhanced and the game is integrated with Steam which means leaderboards, achievements and cloud saves. Considering it's $13.59 on GOG it's probably going to be about $10 USD when it's released on Steam next week.

Into the Stars

  • Release Date: 09/07/2015
  • Availability: Steam - Not available for pre-order
I remember seeing this game as a Kickstarter project but didn't manage to back in time. Thankfully, the project was able to successfully raise over $100,000 USD and is now being released as Early Access on Steam. So what's it all about? Well it looks like a prettier, first-person version of FTL: Faster than Light with a ship's crew heavily inspired by Star Trek (I mean, take a look at the uniforms the crew wear - almost identical!). Anyway, a game that's inspired by Star Trek and FTL sounds pretty damn good. The icing on the cake is that Jack Wall, the composer behind the soundtracks to games like Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Jade Empire is responsible for the soundtrack to Into the Stars! Definitely one to keep an eye on.

So are you interested or excited about any PC games being released next week? Which games are you looking forward to?
